Soul Cycles is owned and operated by the dynamic duo of David and Michelle Merten. Together, they have over 40 years of bicycle business experience. From years of retail in top shops throughout San Diego, to working with and for leading bicycle companies, David and Michelle bring to Soul Cycles an unparalleled level of bicycle knowledge and know-how. A list of these companies includes Haro Bicycles, GT, Shimano Multi-Service, Giant, Manitou Suspension, Orange Mountain Bikes, Royal Racing, Tioga and Speedplay Pedals. David is a former World Cup suspension technician and a USCF licensed mechanic. Both David and Michelle have raced mountain bikes for many years, with one of their competitive hi-lights being a NORBA National podium result in the tandem class. They are both still avid cyclists, trying to log miles and smiles in between chasing down the even more dynamic duo of McKenna and Manning.

At such a level, every spring numerous professional teams choose East County for their training camps. On the other side of the road, the mountain biking in East County is equally as famous. East County’s trails, downhill tracks, and dirt jumping spots have been featured in numerous videos and have brought professional teams and suspension companies to challenge their newest riders and products. Soul Cycles is intimately familiar with these hilly road rides, and rocky mountain trails and can direct and guide you to numerous challenging rides so you can find your own cycling nirvana.
